OK. Yesterday I decided that it is high time to go polyphasic again after four monophasic nights in row. Brrr :-).
1st attempt, June, 25th 2012 – July, 8th 2012
These are all posts related to my first attempt at uberman in the summer of 2012. Continue reading
Now this surprises me again. Living on a regular monophasic sleeping pattern for two days now, after my 14 days attempt to uberman, I am heavily missing “something”.
What did we learn from two weeks of living on an uberman schedule?
Fist of all – the reason to stop the experiment two weeks earlier than intended is a financial one – my personal productivity was lower than usual which resulted in my being behind schedule in almost all my current projects at work and at home, which I can not tolerate at the moment.
Week 2 saw some failures, mainly due to the “sickness – break” right at the start. I think this might be the reason, why I showed no real sign of “adaption” – tiredness was still a problem almost all of the time.
Now this is an unworthy end. Even though the decision to stop was made yesterday, I really should have put some nice icing on the cake for sure, but this:
This was a very fine day. Mother in law arrived in the morning, lot’s of playing with the kids, about four hours in the office in the afternoon – quite smooth, quite relaxed.
Well: Failed start today. I guess this was a new personal “tiredness”-record. Overslept the 02:30 nap (one hour approximately).
The 11th day – and still no real progress in terms of “never be tired between naps”. I still am – VERY – tired sometimes.
We were at the doctor’s this morning and behold: This is not serious. “Hand Foot and mouth disease.”. Fever will go down within 2-3 days and the other symptoms should vanish within a couple of days afterwards.
So I decided to take the risk and resume the experiment on the spot, which was 11:30 a.m.
